My first time at this salon, I told the stylist I was growing my hair as long as I could and that it had never been so long before, I loved it being longer than its normal length but that since I had been trimming it myself at home the ends were probably not in line. I asked her to even the ends a tiny bit so that it wasn't jagged. She checked how much I wanted her to cut with her fingers and we agreed that she would cut 1 inch at the absolute most just to even the ends. She asked me if I wanted her to shape it and I said absolutely not no. In truth i didn't really want a lot done but it was a special day for my mum and she really wanted to have a haircut together so it was a compromise that I would get a tiny trim so that we could do it together. As the stylist worked we talked about my distrust of salons since the stylists rarely listen to me and usually do what they think is best rather that what I asked them to do (wrong colour dye, wrong length, wrong style etc.). This has happened more than I can count. She said she was appalled by that. As I wear glasses, and I have to remove them for the cut, I couldn't see what she was doing until she was almost finished and moved to the front. As the hair fell onto me, I held up a piece of my hair from my lap that was almost 4 inches long and sighed. There was no point complaining since she was almost done by then. My hair was already ruined. She had cut all the longest parts off the length to bring it up to meet the shortest parts. That is not what I asked her to do, repeatedly, but it is what she thought would look best I assume. My hair was now all one length to match the front. I only went to the salon as a courtesy to my mum. No good intention goes unpunished. I will not be going back, nor would I recommend their services to anyone as clearly, they do not listen well. I will have to try to regrow at least 5 months of length now or get some extensions as I am back to my normal length. Since I don't know why it grew so long suddenly in the first place, it's never done before, I'm hoping it will grow back. My mum paid for the cut and even tipped the stylists, since it's her regular salon and didn't want to make a fuss. I'm just upset. Service: Hairstyling

Caitlin is just the best. Ive visited a lot of hairdressers in the past and I am always very impressed with Caitlins styling of my hair. It lasts for days and always looks classy and is done with great care and attention. Would highly recommend The Salon. Everyone is so friendly, Caitlin, Sue and the lovely owners. Cannot fault the staff at this lovely, chilled out salon. The staff are always friendly and listen to what you want with your hair. They have great attention to detail and the products used are gorgeous. They are a little more costly than some salons, but they are worth it. They offer teas and coffees during your appointment and regularly check up to see how you are doing. Would recommend The Salon, to anyone.
