Check in for arrival is very late, 5pm & have to be out by 9am on leaving. Location is perfect being on the doorstep of shops & eateries in the harbour of Padstow. Lovely walks & beaches all easy access from the accommodation. No parking has been an issue, which we knew of at time of booking, but its a steep walk uphill to the carpark, yes theres one closer but difficult to guarantee a space. Its been a different experience of being in the hub of everything & surprisingly quiet & secluded behind the entrance gate. The cottage is very well equipped with pretty much everything needed, however we have been very disappointed with the kitchen. 4 cupboards have been taken up with electrical items such as the boiler in 1, small dishwasher in another, washer/dryer in another and a small under counter fridge with freezer box taking up another. Theres a cupboard under the sink, a single cupboard and a narrow 1/2 cupboard, 3 drawers for all the kitchen equipment supplied. A walk in cupboard with more pots & pans, clothes airer, hoover, mop & bucket, washing line & pegs, picnic bag. The kitchen is small & badly organised with the design, the microwave is in the wrong place too! The sofa in the lounge/dining area is extremely low, uncomfortable and difficult to get out of, cushions on the floor describes it well. It looks comfy with soft cushions but the height of the seats is below my knee!! Shower room is lovely & modern with a brilliant heated towel radiator. The fixed shower screen is not easily seen & could do with some way of highlighting it being there as the room is quite gloomy with a window alongside the outside wall not letting in much light. 3 bedrooms upstairs with a useful toilet & washbasin. Lovely seating area & decking outdoors. Nowhere for children or dogs to play though. Location 10/10 but very overpriced compared to where weve stayed previously in Cornwall.

As we have 2 dogs we choose to holiday in the UK in pet friendly cottages. Captains Cottage has it all, perfect location for the harbour and shops yet quiet escape from the crowds for peaceful time. The cottage has everything needed to keep 2 dogs happy with a touch of luxury for humans too. Attention to detail and finishing touches make the cottage so welcoming and comfy. We had one day when it rained all day but wasn't a problem stopping in the cottage and chilling. Will definitely be back.

Excellent cottage everthing you need. Beautifully done up. Up a quiet alley but in the.middle of the hustle and bustle of the town if you want it. Would highly recommend it and we will definitely be back.
