Bruce's professionalism and attention to detail was instantly recognisable just from the amount of information he took about our Tortoise, I then returned to the waiting room while an initial assessment was made and Bruce then honestly informed me that my tortoise had a bad case of sepsis to the point were many tortoises may not survive.
Bruce then wasted no time in carrying out further in depth examinations, X ray etc and I was blown away by how he not only identified the internal cause of the infection but also gave me a very detailed analysis about the overall general health etc and immediate treatment was administered.
At every stage of the treatment Bruce was analysing the best possible way to carry out the necessary treatment in the best way that would keep our tortoises stress level to a minimum and also took into account that I had to travel a long way without compromising the health of the Tortoise.
On my initial visit Bruce spent the best part of 2 hours with us and was in no way rushed and was happy to repeat himself as much as I needed to take in all the relevant information in my obviously stressed state.
Thanks to Bruce's unbelievable knowledge of reptiles our tortoise made a full recovery and I have no doubt she would not of survived had I of stuck with the local vets who quite frankly were made to look like complete novices compared to Bruce.
I thought that Bruce's charges were beyond reasonable.
To summarise Bruce is a highly specialised reptile vet and despite it being a 6 hour round trip to see him, I would not even consider taking my tortoises to another vet!
