My daughter's school parents group use this app but it charges us twice. It happens all the time with a lot of parents and they say it is "unusual".

It's great for buying tickets as very few people are at the school gate any more. But it is horrendous for bombarding you with ads that you don't want. I don't use it for communication with our class.

Advertising with Classlist has proved to be a terrible experience. As we have experienced much better ROI from other forms of advertising (Google PPC, Facebook ads, leafleting), and our customer base is the exact same audience as Classlists i.e. parents, it seems fair to conclude that Classlist was the problem (namely that their pricing structure is not competitive). Of course, there is no guarantee that a new advertising method will be competitive with your existing ones. Thus, if that had been the only issue then we would have put the experience down to trial and error and moved on amicably. However, we felt very let down by how Classlist misled us into thinking more competitive advertising rates could be agreed with them. This was done by Classlist sending us a pricing excel document that allows the user to calculate the cost of advertising for different periods of time (with no upper limit). The reason why this is important is that Classlists pricing structure means that the longer you advertise with Classlist the cheaper it becomes. However, when we sought to amend our 12-month agreement to a much longer one (in order to try to make the ROI better i.e. more in line with our other forms of advertising) we were told that 12 months was the maximum term allowed. As such, based on the cost of the 12-month agreement, the ROI from advertising with Classlist proved to be very poor compared to other forms of advertising (including Google PPC, Facebook Ads and leafleting).
