I don't recommend this tradesman. Here's why. I paid 1400 upfront for Mr. Luke Gill to install an unvented water heater cylinder. He told me he was G3 qualified to do so. He offered to send one of his workers who is not legally qualified to do the job. I refused. There are strict safety and legal regulations for this type of installation because these are high pressure performance systems. Installers must have a G3 qualification if they wish to install any unvented hot water system within a domestic property. We agreed to wait until Luke returned from his holiday and would do the installation himself. This meant I had no hot water for several days-- a hardship, yes, but it was important to me to have a certified installation done. And I'd paid him already. On his return from holiday, Luke violated our agreement by sending his brother, Jacob, to do the job. I'd waited for nothing! Jacob doesn't have the G3 qualification. He left the job unfinished. He told me he'd come back and finish but never did. I chased this up with Luke to no avail. Now there is a hole in the wall where there should be a panel. See photo. This is very poor and unprofessional service. This was 3 months ago. I have contacted Luke several times since then to try to resolve the matter. Nothing doing. He does not answer calls, emails, texts. I'm left with a partially and illegally installed system. Don't let him do this to you.
