Was so disappointed, very run down . Went with grandchildren 10 and 5 who were happy enough. Very big down side was accosted by an aggressive man demanding to k ow why I was there and why I was filming the children. (I'm a 68 Yr old grandma. The children were my grandchildren and there was noone else in the park til he arrived!) Very stressful on a hot summer day.

I love to use this park with my brother and nephew. A bit quieter than the others in the area. That is its appeal, you can read a book whilst they play on all the rides easily. Very nice views over the golf course.

My original intent was just to describe a number of pocket parks in Oxford to show how much of a feature they were in the city. Unfortunately, I seem to have started this in the middle of Oxford City councils efforts to close down a number of these parks. Im going to try and avoid criticisms about what the city council is doing because I dont have the time to explore the issues in any detail. The pocket park at no.1 Dene Road next to Town Furze is surrounded to the north by the Fairview Allotments and to the west and south by the Oxford Golf Course. The site is grassy and seems well kept. It is also hilly although not to the same extent as Quarry Hollow park. It is dotted with trees and surrounded by trees so that it looks quite an attractive place. It probably has a good Carbon deficit - absorbs more than it releases. It has quite a number of facilities.

Great peaceful playground suitable for around 4-8 year olds. Not many play items but has a great rope bridge, zipwire, slide and swings. Lots of grass and trees for shade, a picnic and a game of hide and seek.
