Windle Trust International helped numerous Eritrean and Ethiopian refugees in Sudan. I personally benefited when I did post graduate studies at the Development Studies and Research Centre (DSRD), University of Khartoum in 1988-90. When I worked for Sudan Council of Churches (SCC) head office in Khartoum as an Education Officer from end of 1983 to '85, I had the opportunity to meet Dr Hugh Pilkington in person, because he was one of the main funders to SCC's education programme for refugees, bless his soul.
