Non profit organization. Sponsored by town council, lottery funding and donations from generous public bodies. Due to lack of funding, the center has a very restricted activities. The most important day is the Chinese New Year celebration at Oxford City Town Hall. The place was packed for that function, lion dance, traditional dances, performance, speech by City Mayor, and delicious Chinese food for lunch donated by Chinese restaurants. The center offers invaluable free advice to Chinese personals, English lessons and activities for the elderly. We have lunch together on Tuesday two to three times a month at the East Oxford Community Center, all Chinese are welcomed, prepared by volunteers. For Tuesday gatherings, most of the people attending are elderly at present. Occasionally we also eat out like COSMOS or Oxy Oriental. Free transport is also available. Latest news we were given 4 vegetable plots at an allotment near Florence Park almost free for the elderly to do some physical exercise.
