Jonathan Beecher is a great asset to the musical world. As a violinist myself and now a mother of an almost-teen violinist too, I sought out Jonathan, who had restored my own 3/4 violin (Italian, 19thC) purchased for me in 1991 from him, to identify a full-size violin for my son this past Spring. He had an excellent range of instruments at different price-points, and gave such good advice to my son who was able to lead the process with Jonathan's guidance, in making this important decision. We purchased a Viennese late 19thC violin, 4/4, with beautiful warm tone and impeccable condition. Post-sale, Jonathan has been a resource after 6 months to check how the instrument is adapting to its new owner. His own musical talent and knowledge are at the disposal of so many younger musicians, as he is a kind and generous man, helping nurture young talent. He runs a business superior to better-known dealers given his knowledge and skill, and we found significantly better instruments here at our price point vs the London dealers we visited (Guivier, Beares, etc). Highly recommended.
