Katie Shaw worked with me for almost 2 years, on a Medical Negligence case. I felt that she fully understood the reasons behind my claim. She explained everything to me in simple terms. She was always professional, and always made me feel better, when it felt like nothing was happening. My late partner died because St Thomas' Hospital failed to perform a mandatory and crucial second troponin blood test after a suspected heart attack. He was given the all clear and released but only two days later, he collapsed and died in my arms at home. Had they performed the second test he would not have been discharged and should have been kept in the care of the cardiology ward where he would have had a chance for recovery. It was a lonely battle for me fighting the hospital trust for three years but finally Freeths took on my case and I was so relieved to have someone who was really fighting on my side. In their investigation they discovered that one doctor completely ignored the order for a second test and changed the prognosis of a suspected heart attack altogether to a lung issue. Not only were Freeths thorough in their legal expertise but Katie Shaw who handled my case was sympathetic and understanding of what I was going through. I cannot thank her enough. I certainly hope that I would never have to go through anything like this again but I have nothing but praise and respect for Freeths and Ms Shaw.
