I always leave feeling well-connected and energised. The trainers really showcase a 'no question is a silly one' approach. The classes are fun and there isn't an ounce of pretense to this wonderful place.
Thank you for creating such a special hub in the community! Love you guys!

I started with Project PT at a time when I felt really low about my body and my physical fitness level, especially after lockdown. Project PT has been the single best thing I could have done for my wellbeing! Not just my feelings about my body, but my feelings about my capabilities in life in general!
The staff is warm, welcoming, non-judgemental, and are able to adjust any exercise to your level. This is the FIRST gym I've ever gone to that doesn't have a hint of toxic gym culture, and for me it felt like a whole new world. This great atmosphere is reflected in the clientele: everyone else I've met at Project PT has been friendly, and happy to be there. There is a wide range of people with vastly different bodies, experiences, and abilities, which made me feel comfortable being there too. The small class sizes are also a perfect mix of social and individual attention from trainers. (Also, the fact you have to book your classes in advance means that I actually show up consistently!)
At Project PT I took up powerlifting for the first time, something which had always intrigued me, but which I'd assumed "wasn't for me." Lo and behold, not only was it fun, but I was good at it! Now, whenever I feel bad about how my body looks, or the things I can't do physically, I think to myself, "but you can lift X kilograms! That's amazing!" It has genuinely helped me feel more comfortable about myself, my health, and what I can accomplish.
Perhaps most importantly, I've been able to take the skills I've learned at Project PT with me elsewhere. When travelling and using other gyms, I've been able to walk into a traditional, "bro culture" gym and use the weights section with confidence. It doesn't bother me to use "serious" equipment like dumbbells or the squat rack, because I'm confident in my technique. I feel like I can take up space at the gym now, because I deserve to be there too! (And it helps that I can now lift heavy weights with the best of them!)
Project PT also puts out free PDFs with the monthly exercises, meaning that when I travel I can follow along and not lose my progress.
I genuinely cannot recommend this gym enough, no joke, it may be a contributing factor in my choice to remain in Oxford. It's a special place and I don't take it for granted!
