I'm not sure how it could be worse. I love a cheap stay and have low expectations, so I'm not used to being disappointed. Reeked of cigarette smoke, filthy bathroom with crusty black mold - the kind you can wipe off, not the inevitable kind - so it hadn't been cleaned for weeks (shower mat was piss-soaked, had hair, broken glass, and glitter in it). After a night with the windows wide open and an air freshener from Boots, we left, because the smell hadn't changed and it was soaking into our clothes. The manager wasn't answering the phone, and wasn't on the property, so I doubt he even noticed we weren't there for the full 3 nights. Walkability: A solid half hour walk from city centre.
