I am just an ordinary member that lives about 80 miles from Oxford, and to anybody reading this with ancestry in Oxfordshire then I highly recommend joining the society. It is great value for money and I can only admire the dedication and enthusiasm of the volunteers, in not only the projects that they do, but in their general enthusiasm to helping ordinary members like me. The members magazine is high class too, very well put together and a very enjoyable read. For anyone using Facebook, then I can say that members of this group are very enthusiastic too. Thank you.

The OFHS is a very active society with members from all over the world that normally have Oxfordshire ancestors or interests. I've been a member for over 40 years and although I don't live in Oxfordshire it is well worth being a member. The OFHS was, and still is, a very keen publisher of Parish Register transcriptions and other extremely useful family history research information. Members are kept up to date with regular editions of the 'Oxfordshire Family Historian'. Usually, there is an annual fair hosted by the OFHS but includes many other FHSs. Help can be found at the fair or via the very friendly helpline. When possible there are regular meetings, with a speaker, in Oxford. So, if you have ancestors from Oxfordshire there is no better investment to progress with your research than by becoming members of the Oxfordshire Family History Society.
