AVOID AVOID AVOID. BRADLEY ROOFING & BUILDING IS THE TRADING NAME OF A SOLE TRADER CALLED ALEX HARRIS. (There may be other companies or individuals with similar names who have nothing to do with this review.) They said they'd start the job towards the end of March but didn't start till late April. They then turned up for a single day and said they'd completed the job (a full roof re-surface), even though they had told us the work would take 1-2 weeks. They left scaffolding in my garden for over a month and then finally returned to clear the gutters as promised. I paid promptly in instalments, and paid the final balance on the same day that they finished the work. Within a couple of weeks the new surface started flaking off all over the entire roof. Also the lead flashing which they were supposed to repair or replace is very worn and doesn't appear to have been fixed. I've sent photos, emails and WhatsApp messages to Alex Harris but he hasn't replied. He simply said that the flakes came from the old roof surface (an obvious lie -- see photos). We've had the roof inspected by three other roofers who all say it needs re-doing from scratch. I also have a report from a qualified surveyor who states: 'defective work has been carried out... the works have been carried out in a poor/DIY manner'. Bradley Roofing and Building never issued a receipt despite several written requests. I asked Alex Harris several times to confirm that they actually did the work as contracted and he did not reply. The work was supposed to be guaranteed for 15 years but they have ignored my requests for a refund. Alex Harris called me after I posted this review to demand that I take it down. But he refused to confirm that they actually did the work or to discuss a refund. Their website has a page saying 'We welcome our customers feedback'. As of 10/01/2023 there are only two reviews, one by "Admin" (in other words they wrote it themselves)! I tried submitting something but it wasn't published and there has been no response so that's obviously a sham. As Mr Harris has ignored all our letters we are now legally pursuing him for compensation. Our lawyer is sending an Annexe 1 information sheet that must be returned within 30 days, so hopefully we will get a reply to that. I will continue to provide fair and accurate updates. UPDATE 17 March 2023: our lawyer's letter was returned and it was claimed that there was nobody of that name at that address. This probably tells us all we need to know about the honesty or otherwise of this business and whether they stand by the quality of their work. More updates to follow.

I had a leak on my flat roof. I called the company and they came around and inspected the job and gave a quote. Very happy with the job! Great service

Needed guttering repairs, but when up there they found rotten battens under some of the old roof which needed replacing. Alex was helpful and showed videos of the problem. Had to wait a bit to get them on site, but when they came they worked hard and quickly. And from down at ground level I'm happy with the result. Hoping problem is fixed for many years to come!

Really pleased with the work they did on my Nans roof. (Reconstructing roof) They were incredibly polite and understanding of my elderly nan, they kept us informed with everything they were doing and talked us through what they were doing including taking pictures etc along the way. No mess was left, very tidy and cleaned up after themselves! for your brilliant service!

The work did not start for several reasons in Summer and the deposit has not been returned yet. Definitely not recommended.
