This was my email to the company over two weeks ago. Elizabeth Last replied saying she had asked her MD to investigate. I never gave them any info as to where it was bought and they never asked so what was going to be investigated I don't know. I emailed again twice and they have ignored both. This is my email :- I purchased your top soil as it states on the bag that I can used it on my lawn and as I had a patch of lawn I need to reseed so I bought this. I have attached photos of what I received. One third of each of the two bags I used were full of bark and twigs. It looked as if this had been collected from a forest floor and put straight into the bags. Could you tell me how this was suitable for lawns ? I have purchased topsoil in the past and I presumed the product was filtered as I have never had any problems. I suffer from Arthritis in both hands and had to struggle to put this through a sieve so I could use it. Which caused me a great deal of pain. I await your reply.

I bought six bags of their so called "multi purpose compost" to fill a raised vegetable bed I had assembled. The quality and consistency of this product is absolute rubbish! Just where the compost was god only knows. The bags were full of lumps of wood/bark of varying size with little sign of any soil into which you could plant seeds or prepared plants started off in the greenhouse. I was forced to dump the rubbish on other parts of my garden as a mulch which is all it is good for. I sent a couple of emails to Godwins asking for an explanation but they showed their disinterest by ignoring my complaint. I have since used other compost, cheaper than Godwins, which us a fantastic product. Never again!!!
