Our homebirth would not have been possible if it wasnt for Meg! Meg supported my husband and I from start to finish and we could not have asked for more. During labour Meg ensured I was comfortable, massaged me during contractions, encouraged me to breathe and guided me to a wonderful state of calmness;) Megs passion and enthusiasm is inspirational and we felt so at ease and relaxed in her company - Meg is just AMAZING! The visits before and after our birth was a great time to connect and get to know each other better! Forever thankful for walking with us on our daughters birthday, thank you Meg

We asked meg to be our doula for our first birth which we had planned at home and in a birthing pool. After interviewing three doula's we felt meg was the best fit for us as she was so passionate about what she does, it wasn't just a job to make money (as it was for one doula we interviewed) and she listened to us and was very engaging. The antenatal meetings we had were not rushed, They were great to get to know each other and discuss how we hoped the birth would be but also options if things were different and it was really important for my husband too to bond with meg before the big day. We called meg in the early hours of the morning when contractions had started and it was such a relief when she arrived. I felt completely in control of my labour while she was there and 100% supported. While I was in my own little world it was fabulous to feel supported but not "bothered" by people which I think is a very hard balance; which meg nailed. We had a very fast labour which got a bit stressful after the midwife arrived and meg really worked at keeping the focus on empowering me, double checking I was happy with the decisions I was making when the midwife was pushing me in to things I had said I didn't want. On reflection this was really important, just being asked if i wanted x,y or z and double checking as the midwife was steaming on in. She was so supportive of my husband too and I felt went above and beyond. Even after the birth being able to reflect on the birth with her was invaluable and the brownies she made were delicious and demolished in a day. We will definitely ask meg to be our doula again and highly recommend her to our friends (even non pregnant ones). Meg was a vital part of helping me have a home water birth and dealing with a difficult situation with the attending midwife and we can't thank her enough for helping us welcome baby Thomas in to this world.
