Arcadia Damp Proofing

Arcadia did some damp proofing on my front room. They provided a thorough quote, and gave me a very reasonable price. Once I agreed the quote they carried out all the work in one day and left the house clean and tidy. I lost the paperwork for the guarantee which I needed when selling the house. Arcadia were super helpful in providing copies of the work done and the guarantee. Overall they have been great, and I highly recommend them.

No star: No reply to emails, when the surveyor finally got in contact over 6 months later to arrange an appointment to review the damp which has since spread- he cancelled this twice. I have continuously been phoning/emailing to no response. Please dont waste your time with this company, very disappointing. Still waiting for the damp to be fixed as it is under guarantee. Caused me distress and frustration to the lack of concern, priority and commitment from the company.

Had some work done by them and still waiting for some rectification work to be done 6 months after work being carried out. Use at your own risk. On initial consultation and quote from Arcadia, they were advised the property was being sold and that the gaurantee needs to be in the new owners name. They are trying to charge 50 to change the name on the file, it wasn't brought to our attention there would be a charge for name transfer at point of quotation. We had 2 rooms worked on for damp at the same time, the quote was reasonable and a prompt timescale was achievable so we went ahead with the work. The plaster work was dried thoroughly as per instructions given by Arcadia and it all peeled off upon decorating, they sent one of their lads around and informed me the plaster work hadn't bonded to the original plaster work and the fault lied with them and they would rectify the problem. He scrapped the faulty work away and carried out 1st skim then informed me he would be back next day. That day came and went, the work still hasn't been finished. Called and called but they say they will come back to you but never do. Had an independent plasterer to come and look, he said the fault lied with Arcadia workmanship and it was fully dry to decorate and shouldn't have been a problem. The other room was painted over fine which shows the plaster work was fully dried out. kept ringing to see if whats happening and all I get is I will call you back or avoid my calls. Arcadia workmanship isn't great at all, where they have taken the old plaster off to carry out the damp work they used plasterboard which now results in the lower half of the wall bulging out compared to the top. The tried to blend it but it sticks out like saw thumb. I would avoid using Arcadia

I had some really bad damp in my dining room, the plasterwork was hanging off it was that damp! I called Arcadia to give a price to sort my problem out, the surveyor came out quickly and gave me a price to do the work. I was quite surprised how good the price was and asked for the work to be done. They got the work done within a couple of weeks of me asking, the workmen were good at what they do and know their stuff and showed up on time. I kept them supplied with tea and coffee and got on with them really well, they were courteous and while it was a messy job, it was kept to a minimum and they cleaned up well. Once they had done, the once soggy plasterwork was now bone dry within a few days! I would definitely recommend Arcadia.

Just had some damp works carried out by Arcadia and I am very pleased with them. They turned up on time and did a good job and were very friendly and tidy, finally glad to see my damp gone. Would definately recommend.
