Budget Car Hire

I booked a car with them to pick up yesterday. When I arrived at the terminal I couldn't find their office. At the information desk Meeting Point the staff at the airport told me that Budget was not operating there and that the company was not in terminal as advertised. The bus driver of the shuttle bus that takes passengers to the rental car area outside the terminal insisted in the fact that they don't operate there. I called Budget number provided in the reservation and also their number in Google Maps and the answer was that the number didn't exist. I called Budget number in the UK, and the answer was a machine message saying that "due to the current circumstances we can't help you right now" I finally lost 40 minutes trying to reach them, so I had to book a cab to go to Leeds, and I will never book Budget again. My card was charged, so I have to work on that now.

This place is terrible. I took the car back and their computer system was down. They took the car and said theyd log it in at time I actually returned it. Instead, they logged it in when their system came back up making the car late return and charged me for an extra day. What a rip off. Im still fighting the matter but the fact they even did it means Ill never, ever rent from Budget again, anywhere. Stay away! I wish zero stars was an option. Update: After this review I got the response below. I did exactly as suggested and contacted them within the hour via DM on social media. The response said they'd contact the local office. Then......silence. They've only compounded the issue proving they are non-responsive to customers.

I was charged a late return fee despite returning 10 minutes early. Head office staff are incompetent and unhelpful. I've rented a car over 7 times in the last 12 months with different companies and have never experienced anything like this. Avoid these cowboys.
