Church Services are held on the: Second Sunday of each month at 9:30am: Church of England Worship Service with Communion Fourth Sunday of each month at 10:30am: Ecumenical Worship Service St. Giles Church, founded in 1098, is a Grade II* Listed Building, built of sandstone blocks from Hadrians Wall. The church is reputed to have been the first church built in Cumberland following the Norman Conquest. There has been a worshipping congregation there for over 9 centuries. The church is open most days for visitation and prayer. Historic England has designated the First World War Memorial (located in the churchyard) as a Grade II monument of historical significance.

St. Giles Church, founded in 1098, is a Grade II* Listed Building, built of sandstone blocks from Hadrians Wall. The church is situated in the village of Great Orton. It is reputed to have been the first church built in Cumberland following the Norman Conquest. There has been a worshipping congregation here for over 9 centuries; all are welcome to attend services as we continue that tradition. Services are held on the second and fourth Sunday of each month, at 9:30 and 10:30 respectively. As the Family of God in our community, we worship Jesus and go out to serve the local community with His Love. The church building is open each day for visitation, prayer and reflection.
