        We had a disappointing experience here today. We took in a cat that has been hanging around the gorse hill nature reserve area which we thought may have been lost. We asked them to scan the cat for a microchip. The vet assistant got the cat out of the carrier in the waiting area, which concerned us a little. She proceeded to scan him and while she was securing him back in the carrier he fell out and bolted out the door behind some customers who were leaving. In the confusion she failed to note down his microchip number and the screen timed out, so we'll never know if he has an owner. One member of the team helped us look for the poor cat for a few minutes but then returned to work. I hope the staff member and the rest of the team will learn from this that you should not get cats out of their carriers unless they are in a room with a securely closed door.
