If I could give a -1 then I would as I have never known such poor customer service or lack of response to a complaint even when you have provided them with their legal obligations. My mother and father purchased a 09 plate Mini from these cowboys on the 16th of July 21 for 2833 including warranty. The process was managed by a Mr John Heaton, who said he was the manager? (Later found out this was inaccurate) He assured my parents that the car was in perfect working order and was excellent. The car was delivered last Tuesday ( 22nd July 21) as the car had no tax and my parents have no private land to park it on until the tax was paid it was taken to my sisters address. The following morning the tax payment was made and my father walked to collect the car. Less than a mile down the road the oil light illuminated, the engine then began to overheat causing smoke from under the bonnet. On contacting Mr John Heaton my father was told to take it to a garage and use the warranty as that's what it's there for, again I will highlight within less than 24 hours after delivery and less than being driven 1 mile down the road. Like everybody at present finances are tight, covid has created redundancy, ill health and much more. My mum works part-time in a dental practice and has done throughout the period in support of the emergency hubs for the Nhs and my father is extremely unwell therefore meaning my mum is his sole carer. A loan was taken out for this car, which to be fair they cannot afford but without the vehicle it would be a struggle for her to get to work and manage her time to support my father. All points really that should not even come into consideration when making a purchase such as a car! To follow the requirements of having the car assessed by a mechanic to establish if the faults had been there before delivery we did, below is the report; Further to the brief inspection of the above vehicle at our garage today we can confirm the following faults were found: The vehicle is emitting blue smoke indicating that it is burning oil Timing chain is making a rattling noise indicating that it has stretched, as a result of the above The rocker cover on the top of the engine is leaking oil Both the water pump and thermostat housing are leaking coolant There are many codes present in the ECU, some of which should bring up the Malfunction Indicator Light (MIL) on the dash. For some reason the light isnt illuminating? The error codes present are as follows: 276A Catalytic Converter conversion 2845 Vanos exhaust activation 2C8D Power Management Battery 296B Exhaust camshaft sensor SE30 Control Module voltage fault 5DE5 Brake pad wear indictor front signal implausible 9E31 Steering column switch unit P0012 A cam shaft position timing over retarded (Bank 1) A125 Incorrect or implausible signal from the Engine Management Even though this report has been issued to Mr John Heaton 7 days ago they are yet to receive any form of formal response, instead they have been verbal abused, called liars and sworn at.
