One of those new country parks created from old mining works, so it hasn't had a chance to form or mature. What is there is lovely and plenty of walks, paths and long reaching views from the top. I had the place to myself on a Sunday afternoon which is rare these days. Car park is free but there is a height barrier, so anyone who doesn't drive a car or bike has to park outside or find another country park! I can't believe the moronic people who visit these places and not only let there dog run through the pond and reeds scaring the moorhens to death, but also hang there dogs faeces from trees in bags for everyone to view! WHAT THE HELL IS WRONG WITH YOU if you do this? SYOP IT. TAKE YOUR DOG SHEET HOME.
