"Craggs Energy Group expands to the south west with acquisition of Moorland Fuels" January 2021. News to us but explains the changes that have taken place. This is no longer a 'local family business', so you don't get the 'best price on the day' it's delivered. The on-line price is less than if you phone in your order now too. I have found an alternative supplier today, (whose quote was 11p/litre cheaper than the today's online quote from MF) - so more expensive now, when they used to be the best on price. The name on your system would be C Down, my husband.

O dear, very poor communication and service. I had my oil tank replaced. When connecting up the new tank they loosened the tank filter housing and didn't check the fittings after connection. The result is I have lost valuable oil to the ground which inturn has killed off my plants. But get this, after ringing them it's been over two weeks before they can come out to put it right. And wait for it... They want me to pay for them to put right their incontinence. All it needs is tightening up with spanners and they say they need to get a part. I've contacted local watchdog. It's not good customer service.

I had used moorland fuels for 3.5 years with no problems at all. However, they have recently been taken over by large corporation and the standard of service has slipped to an unacceptable level. The last order I made was messed up on their end several times, meaning my family and I were left with very little oil until they finally delivered 3 weeks later. I did not get an apology or any gesture of goodwill. I had to reorder oil today and decided to try another company which is family run. The customer service was brilliant and the price was 70 cheaper for 500 litres compared to moorland fuels. I would suggest to fellow people on Dartmoor to give moorland fuels a wide birth and go somewhere different.
