Cabins / static caravans are very close to each other with no privacy even in the spa area. Ours was not clean and the spa was not chlorinated correctly.

Found this park by accident in 2020, it is a hidden gem, quiet small park. The owners are lovely and on hand for anything. I am about to go on 6th holiday, i have stayed in several different lodges both 2 and 3 bedrooms, all the lodges are stunning, very well looked after, extremely clean, not a spec of dust anywhere. The large hot-tub at each lodge is private from other lodges. If you are bringing children or a dog, the 2 bedroom Fir Lodge is perfect, it has an extra private little grassed area.

The lodge itself is in a nice setting. Cabins and trees and gives you that log cabin in the woods vibe We stayed here for Christmas week. The park put a tree in which was cute. A few things that we didnt like - Im not sure if the cabin was in use prior to us being there but there was lots of cobwebs around, a layer of dust/fluff in the bath. We felt it could of had a once over prior to arrival. - the dishwasher was disgusting, bits of meat in there, and like other parks they dont provide liquid and salt for it just the tablets. When we googled the make and tablets and it needed it. We put stuff in that was just coming back out dirty. - the jacuzzi worried us as it wasnt checked daily for ph levels etc EVERY other park weve been to has. - no shop on the site or restaurant, they recently took back control of the pub which will be handy. They could invest in a welcome pack sugar milk bread etc. we arrived in the evening and then had to go find a shop. - we stayed in Dartmoor lodge and its showing its age with rotted wood joists. It was good to experience once but wouldnt return.

Meldon Lodge is located in a quiet part of Okehampton and is ideally located for exploring Devon. The reason for only 1 star is due to our stay in Dartmoor Lodge w/c 9th Sept 22 The lodge was not clean - thick dust on extractor fans and skirting boards; kitchen extractor greasy; items from previous occupants under sofa, the list goes on. Worst of all was the horrific drain smell in the ensuite. Maintenance did take a look at it and told us that they had put a 'drain bomb" down and left us with an air freshner spray. There was no change in the smell following this and despite contacting Maintenance again they never got back to us. The smell was so bad we stopped using the ensuite.
