We have had a disappointing experience working with Richmond Design + Build for a proposed home development in Enfield Borough. The plans they drew up were rejected more than once by Enfield Council - moreover, Ajay failed repeatedly to perform the tasks he had promised to do - we've lost count of the number of times he promised to call us back within the hour, and failed to do so. Very poor organisation and communication, with us and our Council. Very disappointed.

We hired Richmond Design & Build (RDB) for comprehensive planning, design, permitting and project management services for our house in Barnet in August 2017 and our experience has been nothing short of superlative. RDB advised us on each step of the way with respect to our planning application for a full side and rear extension of our house. They produced high-quality drawings and documentation, met with the planning authorities, discussed the implications of the expansion and attended all meetings as required. They also made modifications to the planning submission based on comments from our neighbours and the Borough of Barnet. Based on these submissions, they obtained full planning permission for a substantial expansion of our house from approx. 110m2 to approx. 195m2. Further to this, RDB then prepared concept, schematic and detailed design drawings and developed a bill of quantities (BoQs) and specifications. They helped us in the selection of a concractor and assisted in the evaluation of a preferred contractor. They have also added huge value to the design and finishing by helping us make both minor and major decisions on planning, design, light quality, the use of space and flows within the house etc. They have also helped us with cost optimisation by advising on where and how we could save money while also advising on what we should spend more from a long-term value generation perspective. Given that we were away and posted on a project site, they gave coordinated the entire development of the project for us including the party wall agreements with our neighbours, supervision of all the work and assistance in the selection of materials. They have also coordinated with London Building Control and ensured that the redevelopment has been done per regulations. Our house will be completely redeveloped in about six to eight weeks and we couldnt be happier with the results or RDBs commitment to the project. Ajay and his partner Purvi have been available at all times and the service has been exceptional. They have treated our house like their own and taken exceptional care. I couldnt recommend them highly enough.
