I have given 1 star only because there isnt a '0' My father stayed here for only a short time, reason being - I was appalled at how he was left alone in his room. The home was constantly short staffed. Nobody was checking on Dad. He had several falls because he wasnt supervised in his room and had to be admitted to A & E. How can you leave a patient in a room upstairs with Dementia and not be there keeping them safe? Dad lost a considerable amount of weight and was a shadow of himself. I decided to surprise the home with a visit and found Dad on his bed, pad open and he was covered in his own feaces. When I looked around the room there were faces all over his photos and window. This was in 2020. I immediately got in contact with social workers and requested a transfer to Cowlees care home. Dad had dignity and respect from all staff from the moment he was moved to them. He had his own bathroom (something that he didnt even have in Allambie) and was immediately assessed to find that he was incorrectly diagnosed with Alzheimer's, he had Lewy Body Dementia and was on the incorrect medication. Cowlees transformed Dad to the best of their ability and gave him quality of life. Sadly, Dad passed away January this year. But I know I did all I could to give him the love and respect he deserved. I strongly advise you do your research before you put a member of your family here. My Dad stood by me throughout my life and I stood by him when he needed me most. I am now at peace knowing he had the best care until he passed with Cowlees.

My husband passed away last November after nearly 4 years stay at Allambie Court. All residents have been cared for incredibly well during this Covid outbreak, management had put in stringent rules, which the staff adhered to. I was allowed to be by my husband's side, leading up and the final time of his passing, as he was Covid clear. There have been issues along the way and dealt with. I now have no concerns for any resident there, they will be cared for by a caring and efficient staff. I Wish Them Well and A Safe Future
