1. Perhaps the biggest advantage for me, HotPod Nottingham has the most classes per day and the most convenient class times. I have been loving the 7.15am classes before work. They also have 2 locations in Nottingham which seem to alternate their class times so that there is never a day where they dont have a class at a time that suits me.
2. They have nice showers. Simple yet an important plus, they always have good products in the showers which, again, makes it easy to fit yoga in before work. It also means I can do some cold water exposure after my sauna. (they go nice and cold if you turn the shower to low/eco)
3. They have mats already on site meaning i dont have to carry a mat round with me.
4. They don't use InfraRed to heat it, they use actual heat. This is not to disparage infrared, however, there is a lot less research on infrared saunas than regular heat saunas which have decades of research showing the benefits. Now, im no expert, but I do prefer this type of sauna knowing that its definitely scientifically backed.
5. They have an easy to use app.
I leave each session feeling slightly buzzing from endorphins but also calm, its done wonders for my mental health. I like to arrive a bit early and do some mindfulness meditation in the heat before the class begins, and the instructors add some mindfulness practise into the beginning of the class (body scans, breath work etc).
The way the classes work is they seem to have a flow (called HotPodFlow) that they tend to use as a base structure for their class which each instructor varies to some extent each class. This involves a lot of vinyasas, lunges, warrior poses etc. There are other formats of class that they do, but this seems to be the most common one.
