Avoid at all cost, totally a waste of time. 10.25 per hour for this type of work isnt worth it, youre treated like a servant not a colleague. I wasnt even used my own PPE I had to go around and collect left over items from the previous shift that were still wet and dirty even tho I asked on multiple occasions to be issued with new ones. Started work here 3 weeks ago on agency, my first pay was wrong, even though I filled out the time sheet myself, it was submitted wrong so I was hours down. I had 0 training at all, just expected to know what to do. Every single member of staff including the supervisor is from Ghana or Nigeria and there English is 5/10 at best. Of the different type of jobs there you will only be doing the absolute worst ones for 8 hours non stop, there is no progression what so ever. My team leader would tell me one thing, his assistant would tell me another and then Id get moaned at for not doing it the way Id been shown even though Id been shown multiple different methods. You get a break after 5 hours at which point the majority of the work has already been completed and then the rest of the night is spent looking busy for the cameras. I was told if I finished early then I had to go and help others but every shift the others would finish early and then go and hide in the toilets rather than helping. I felt totally isolated due to being the only English person on site, and when I tried to speak to my supervisor regarding the lack of proper training he got really aggressive and wouldnt listen to my perspective. If youre looking for a consistent job then this isnt for you, Ive got so much patience and every single shift was a slog, trying to will myself forward. Theres a clear and obvious language barrier for anyone native English speaking and until its addressed the company will not change. Also, there is black mould in every production room and when I asked my supervisor about it he told me they had used the wrong sealant during the construction of the room and it was now impossible to remove the mould, which for a food production company is shocking. Also, the main drains in factory 1 upstairs dont work properly. Some arent even plumbed in which goes to show the level of laziness this multi million pound company is at.
