I had taken my kitten in to this vet for simple vaccinations and ended up paying over 500 for all these ridiculous tests they did. They also guilt trip you before doing a test so you get is. As an example, they said my kitten has cancer, which was after multiple things they said she has that turned out to be negative. So they wanted to confirm this cancer that she apparently presented symptoms on at 9 weeks old and when I was hesitant to go ahead with it they said because shes so young itll probably be a quick treatment but the longer you wait the worse it could get. So i ofcourse did the test and surprise, negative. They then said I need to come back 6 months later to retest because it can still develop as its a common cancer in cats?? Why am I being told to have her tested for something that tested negative simply because its common in cats overall. All the medication I was guilt tripped into buying was never used, and my cat is still fine. I was told my cat was allergic to cat milk yet she has no symptoms of this and still has her milk with no issue. After seeing all the reviews I became aware that I was not the only one and I hope you guys take what this vet says with a pinch of salt and take your pets elsewhere to confirm whatever this vet has said.

Have been taking my 16 year old cat to Ben at Arnold & Carlton Vets since we moved to Mapperley 6 years ago, and my two other younger cats since we got them over the past 3 years. He is honest & up front about anything they might need. I can see how some people could be taken aback by his blunt honesty, but I prefer this approach rather than sugar-coating any problems as you know where you stand with him. We have since moved a bit further away but have kept him as our vet as have always had excellent service. On the one occasion I needed to claim on my pet insurance for our elderly cats treatment, he and his team were very helpful and sorted their end of the paperwork promptly.

Ben is an amazing vet - knowledgeable, takes the time to explain the science, very kind and clearly loves animals. I cannot recommend this vets highly enough. Very friendly and helpful staff as well.

I strongly advise avoiding this place we won't be coming back for the following reasons Failed to scan my dogs microchip before treatment which is against the law. Told me I should take my dog back to the rescue because she had a small swelling from her dissolving stitches (which is a normal reaction), tried to tell me it was a growth and he was very worried... Proceeded to give ridiculous advice about how I shouldn't let my dog on the sofa.. like are you kidding me?
