We're an existing customer and having been with our provider for more than a decade we were persuaded to move to Esendex after they acquired our existing supplier. We stomached the hike in rates because it'd mean changing software to migrate to another provider. I can understand they have different pricing. Now after purchasing 30,000 text messages shortly before the Coronavirus turbulence we have been told that we cannot reduce our order having only used less than 5,000 before the country was shut down. We even offered to pay above the going rate for what we'd used by way of a compromise. They could have secured our money and our loyalty but have instead made certain they won't be used again. Stay clear if you.

I was with them for over ten years but in the end the price hikes took their toll and I packed up my bags and left. They don't publish their prices and there is a reason for that. They had been expensive from the start for SMS prices but competitive on short code rental but all that came to an end. The pricing structure is weird, with you having "credits" for messages showing on your account but if you use those credits you are charged extra (so they aren't credits at all). When I queried why the SMS rates were so high it was suggested to me that there was a two tier system for SMS delivery and other providers were using "grey channels" to deliver messages. I switched to messagebird, all my SMS still get delivered but they are over FIVE TIMES cheaper than Esendex. If you are a developer looking for an SMS api to use don't look here, the big players in the market like Vonage, Twilio, Messagebird etc all offer a much more comprehensive range of services for a fraction of the cost.
