Anchor - Annesley Lodge care home

My Mother has been in this care home for several years, in the beginning this home was brilliant, staff are still generally very good, food is nice and they give good meal options. However there have been at least 5 managers since her going into this home all with different ways of running things and everything going that bit more downhill with each one. When she first went in there was an entertainments person for daily activities, this was squashed over the first year to be replaced by anyone who had the time to arrange something which generally wasn't everyday, nothing at weekends, even without covid there is always staff shortages especially in the evenings and sometimes getting anyone to answer the phone after 6pm is near on impossible, when you work this can be a problem. But the most worrying is the attention to the giving of medication, in the last 12 months I have had a total of 3 calls saying that she has had incorrect medication given and this has been passed onto the safeguard team. Not only that they have had a recent outbreak of Scabies, how does this happen when there is supposed to be social distancing, which means it can only have been brought in by a member of staff. One of the reason we thought Annesley Lodge was good was because of the daily entertainment, hopefully once covid has ended a new activities organizer will be employed, and the new Manager will prove to be an improvement
