My grandmother is currently at this home. She has complained that several staff are abrupt, hurried and rude with her. Last week, two staff came in to wash her and not once spoke to her, only chatting to each other. Not what you'd expect considering how much she is paying to stay here. The room is tiny as well, and not representative of the extortionate price being charged. Personally, my visit to her was marked by an unhelpful lady answering the door, who rolled her eyes at me when I dared interrupt her morning coffee to visit my dying grandmother. In the interest of a balanced review - the car parking is plentiful. So 2 stars out of 5 it is.

This home is absolutely fantastic! After hearing the very sad news that my grandma had only week's left to live, she made the difficult decision to move out of her bungalow and into a nursing home. After hearing good reports about this home from my grandma's social worker plus relatives of current and previous service users, we decided to go for a look round. The setting oh the home is within the grounds Risley Hall and is absolutely stunning with a small stream flowing through that adds calmness to environment. Near by there is Risley park bar and restaurant for an easy visit that's only 2-3 minutes walk away. Turning right out of the home entrance is bus stop with excellent wheelchair access to both derby and Nottingham. The decor on the inside could do with some updating however it is more than adequate. There are 3 reception rooms, offering views of the outside area, a television and an area that is used for extra curricula activities used to stimulate services users. Bedrooms are medium sized, just what is needed for each person, with plenty of storage, lighting and wash facilities. All the staff including the cleaning staff to the nurses were absolutely fantastic! My grandma who had been a care home matron in her day couldn't fault the care she received during her 6 weeks at nursing home. Many thanks woodhall park for giving My grandma an amazing time in her last week's my mum and can't thank you enough. Alex and Angela x
