The office and management are disgusting and the attitude towards the carers they employ is horrible.. swearing and shouting at them I am surprised they are still a company work here for over a year one of the most non organised companies by far

Where do I begin! The majority of the carers are just not up to the job. I wonder if any training exists, though many of the problems were lack of basic common sense. Not understanding basic food hygiene, I could not believe that some staff did not know what cheese looked like ! They thought it was only in slices. I wrote menus for mum as she had diet controlled diabetes, this often was not followed as the carer that arrived may not know how to cook an egg, or didnt like the smell of Tuna or other food. Some did not even know how to make a bed, I have found sheet on the bed diagonally!! We had a catalogue of problems that dispite emails and calls, they were often ignored. Mums dare plan was updated to try to cover every eventuality but you cannot do a 2 x 45 minutes call in 10 minutes. To top it all, they almost gassed my mum. A carer on the teatime slot did turn the gas hob off fully. It was enough to extinguish the flame but gas still coming through, the nighttime team did not spot it or notice the smell- probably not in the house long enough! However when the morning team opened the door they smelt the gas so luckily didnt switch any lights on. Not just a danger to mum but there own staff as well. I have heard a rumour that Social Services no longer use HARMONY and Im not surprised. The positives is they did only miss one visit in just over a year, and they did phone if they were concerned regards mums health. But if you are considering using them, just walk into there office on South Street, you will soon change your mind!
