Good bar. Nice staff. However, very hypercritical. I was turned away due to me wearing a tracksuit, but went back in jeans. However, there is rules to state no tracksuits, but loads of people wearing them. Why was I turned away but not them. Says no branded hats but loads of people wearing them, also how what difference does a branded hat change from any other hat. Staff are lovely, but I don't get why some people are allowed to wear what they want but others ain't.

This pub has been my second home for over 13 years. I've seen it go from good to bad too excellent (it's current stance) I've been made to feel extremely welcome. I always feel safe, accepted and appreciated. You will definetely have the time of your life. and most definetely appreciate the new owners and management team put in place. Yes the price has gone up a little but still more affordable then other competitors. drink offers are great and amazing upselling skills from current team. the bouncers are always friendly along with their cheeky smiles, but most deffo worth a visit and really looking forward too seeing you all again. hugs and kisses xxx

It pains me to leave this review, a year or so ago this was one of my favourite places to go out to in town, but it seems to have gotten drastically worse since: The staff are apprehensive about serving water, probably because they want to make more money off drinks. The music has increased in volume to the point where you can't hear yourself think, let alone have a conversation. They've regendered the bathrooms, which is an odd decision for an LGBTQ+ bar. The amount of seating area inside has been reduced, though the new sofas do look nice, they aren't as practice as the large amount of seating that existed previously. I would like to see any of these get addressed, but I'm not holding out hope as the new management seem to care more about the aesthetics of the building (which they have done a beautiful job of) than the customer experience. *Edits to address the response (everything above this point has remained unchanged): I consider telling people to "buy a propper drink" or getting people to promise they would buy a drink later, to be "apprehensive" about serving water. This is something I have never seen in ANY other bar/pub. So the volume of music has not increased, only that replacing broken speakers has led to an increase in music volume? That sounds to me like an increase in volume. As for bathrooms, I will accept your word that I misread any signs you put up. The seating area has been reduced, prior to the building work you did, there were large sofas near the entrance that seated far more people than the new seating in that area. I understand that this change may have been done to allow more couple seating rather than large numbers of people on 1 large sofa. Many of these issues have been brought up to bar staff by myself, and I would not have written this review had I not done so. I was previously a semi regular customer of yours (about twice a month or so), I would tell people about how nice your venue was. Then you stopped serving food (which I understand from the renovations, hence why I didn't bring it up in the review until now). Then you reduced the seating space. Then you increased the volume so I could no longer talk with people, and I stopped coming as frequently. And the final straw was when I saw your apprehension towards serving my friends water, and that was the final straw and I have not come back since. I appreciate that you recognise that my review has come from someone who used to regularly come to your establishment (despite the annonymous nature of it). I may come back sometime to see if anything has improved for me, but I believe that I am no longer a part of your target clientele.
