G T Edwards (Ilkeston) Limited

We recently used GT Edwards for the funeral of my mum. We will never be able to thank them enough for everything they did to make her funeral such a memorable day and one that my mum would have been so proud of. We dealt with Andy, who from the very first time we met, was so professional, friendly, kind, compassionate and very accommodating. He explained everything and talked us through everything that would happen on the day to make sure we knew what to expect. He took all of the stress out of our hands, and on a very emotional day it was good not to have to think about anything, or worry about any of the little details, which he had thought of and done for us. On the day of mums funeral everything ran seamlessly well. The professionalism they all showed and respect for my mum was unbelievable. Andy even joined in with my mums request to do the Morecambe and Wise dance to her chosen song of bring me sunshine, which meant a lot to us. I think we were quite fussy customers as my mum had planned her own funeral, and wanted things done in a particular way. Andy always went above and beyond to accommodate all of our requests, and I know he spent hours trying to organise the order of services for us and research different companies who did poppy seed remembrance envelopes. He always continued his efforts until we were 100% happy with things. On the day of the funeral he just thought about everything, from taking flowers from the crematorium to the church for us, setting them up in church with mums photo, taking the order of service and poppies to the church, organising a collection box, opening car doors for us, taking flowers back to mums house after the service. Just every last detail was thought about. We were so pleased with the service we received and will be eternally grateful for everything that andy and the team at GT Edwards did for us. I would recommend them 100%.

At such a distressing and upsetting time, Andy was absolutely brilliant, professional, helpful and made the whole thing easier than we thought. My father in laws funeral was a great send off, and its with thanks to all at GT Edwards. We really cannot thank them enough for their help and support from the start, organising the funeral and afterwards. Even when we collected his ashes, Andy and others had time for us to talk, and support us. impeccable service, we knew exactly what was happening from the start. Absolutely no pressure and not rushed into any decisions. We cannot recommend them enough.

GT Edwards excelled with their high standards and professionalism. Andy talked through the process with great empathy and made the worst time of my life so much more bearable to arrange. He handled my daughters funeral with impeccable care and compassion and always maintained her dignity. She looked so beautiful each time we visited her in the Chapel of Rest, nothing was ever too much trouble, including opening up on a Sunday so that we got to spend one last birthday with my daughter before her cremation. I cannot recommend GT Edwards highly enough, with special thanks to Andy who led my daughters funeral from start to finish, and beyond with the collection of her ashes. A truly kind, compassionate, caring, thoughtful man, who together are a wonderfully professional team.

I cannot recommend this business and staff highly enough. Over the past few years have used them on 3 occasions. Each time l have made unusual requests and demands on them. Each time they have surpassed my expectations. This is not easy as l live in New Zealand. A bugler to play the Last Post for my soldier Dad. A farewell to my brother during covid restrictions, their expertise allowed me time to return to the UK and farewell him as he deserved. Sorry this is a bit long winded, but these guys deserve more than a few lines. Thank you. Thank you Thank you Maureen Drury and the extended family.
