KSM Driving

I had taken a few lessons with other instuctors before starting with Kelvin but had never really got that far and had to stop for one reason or another. I started to learn with Kelvin in 2011 and noticed straight away that he had a different style of teaching to the instructors I had in the past. I had a number of lessons with Kelvin before having to stop due to ill health. Kelvin was very supportive at this point and understood that my health was the most important thing and told me to come back once I was ready. I was fully fit and raring to go just before Christmas 2012 and I passed on the 22 April 2013. When I returned to driving again after a break I was nervous and felt like I had forgotten everything. Kelvin is a very good instructor who has this was of making you feel at ease in the car which means you can get the most out of your lessons. I started off with lessons of one and a half hours per week, I felt the fact the Kelvin did this when many other instructors would not was a huge bonus as I felt it was just the right amount of time when I was starting out and it proved very cost effective. Kelvin assessed my strengths and weaknesses very early on and always had a plan in place to correct any errors I was making. As I was learning while we were having dark nights I tried to get lessons during the weekend to try and make the most of learning while it was daylight. Kelvin was always very helpful and tried to give me lessons around my work and uni schedule - even giving up his day off sometimes! The weekend before my test we had two full 6 hour days. I have said this to some people and they have said that I must be mad, but for me it was really useful. Kelvin turned into a hard task mater at this point and pushed me to correct the things I was making mistakes on which was exactly what I needed. Kelvin fits all the basics that you look for an instructor, he arrives on time and is more than qualified but he also takes things to another level. Instead of just telling you you have made an error, he makes you think about why and understand the reasoning behind it. This is so much more useful than telling you not to do something as it stays with you so you don't make the same mistakes again. Kelvin made me feel calm and comfortable from my first lesson, he took time to understand my strengths and weaknesses and built up my knowledge and confidence as the weeks went on. Without his support and coaching there is no way I would have passed first time. I would highly recommend Kelvin and KSM driver training.

When I began lessons with Kelvin I had no previous experience behind the wheel, however I always felt safe and comfortable whilst on my lessons - even when I didn't really have a clue. Whilst learning I felt that Kelvin always made sure I knew exactly what I was doing before I was left to it, especially when learning the manoeuvres. I was never out of my comfort zone on any lessons and I always felt as though I had been prepared before doing something different. I was always made aware of what I was doing right and wrong in my lessons and was helped to improve my weaknesses. To begin with I was never confident on roundabouts however to overcome the fear and improve on them Kelvin made me go round (pretty much) every single horrible round about in the Nottingham/Derby area. Whilst I was cursing him at the time I am now a little more grateful as it as really helped me and made me more comfortable on round abouts. Always on time and always reliable, I would 100% recommend KSM to anyone looking to learn to drive properly and safely!

I passed my driving test first time with Kelvin and it's thanks to him I managed this. I started to learn to drive when I was 17 and hated it. I had no confidence and didn't enjoy driving at all. I'm now 32 and have had 4 instructors with Kelvin being my 4th. In the past Ive always given up after a few lessons because I really havent enjoyed it and found it stressful. Kelvin always stays calm and positive (even reminds you of all he positive things youve done when you do something wrong!). He helped me keep calm and build my confidence. I would recommend KSM to anyone wanting to learn to drive, particularly if you've had a bad experience when learning or if you're nervous. I can't recommend him highly enough he not only taught me to drive, but also taught me to recognise Im a good driver which made me more confident.
