I explained that my car had been sat on my drive unused for 12 months and as a result my gear lever has gone super stiff, boss man explained to me that if I start using the car regularly it will go back to normal, or running it in in his words. I already knew this wasnt the case but I took the car for a drive anyway to see how it would act, it got worse and worse the longer I drove. I called him back and explained and he still says it just needs running in. I took my car to him to have brake pads and disks changed, so I asked him to look at the gearbox too. When I went to collect the car he told me that he had completely rebuilt and re-greased my gearbox and charged me over 200 for this. When I got home I rang him and said it wasnt any better and once again he told me it just needs running in. Ive since had 2 different qualified mechanics look at it and theyve both told me that the gearbox has not been touched at all, 0% chance its been taken out, cleaned, took apart, nothing. Garages being scam artists is the norm anyway, congrats.
