Customer service from branch manager Danny DeMartino below any expectations! Made an offer on property for full asking price and provided proof of funds - Mr DeMartino decided that he will keep arranging viewing as he stated 'I could change my mind' - branch manager doesn't know that anyone can change their mind until exchange of contracts? Does he normally continue arranging viewings until then? Due to my circumstances and since the property I am looking to purchase is vacant I asked Mr DeMartino to enquire with the vendor if they would consider holiday let agreement whilst paperwork associated with purchase being sorted so I can move in earlier. He got back to me shortly after and stated having consulted his legal team he would strongly advise the vendor against considering such agreement since I could change my mind regarding purchase and start squatting in the property under squatters rights - does Mr DeMartino (branch manager) or his legal team (I actualy doubt if he consulted them) not know that squatting in residential premises has been a criminal offence since 2012 and holiday let agreement does not fall within Protection from Eviction Act 1977? Is it example of good customer service to speak to a client like this anyway? In my view it's no different to staff standing right behind customer browsing in a shop and stating that it's done because they could steal something. Due to Mr DeMartino's conduct I decided to ask a friend to enquire about the same property and he was told there were a couple of offers made whilst when I spoke to him 2 minutes earlier he told me mine was the only offer - is Mr DeMartino routinely dishonest to potential buyers? Probably worst customer service I ever experienced!
