I'm not really sure where to begin, so maybe I'll just say that I know joining Fitness Space will change my life. It's that simple. I joined just before Christmas, after finally getting exasperated with my health. I have ME and after a number of bad periods, just lost any fitness I used to have and started to get uncomfortable with my appearance too. However, I've tried joining gyms and working with trainers before and the experience left me scared and really uneasy. As soon as I walked into Fitness Space, I knew it was for me. Small, laid out so nicely and with none of the 'poser gym' feel, I was put at ease instantly. Then I met Kel, who would become my trainer. Professional, understanding and not in a rush, he, and all the trainers at Fitness Space, are amazing to work with. I've never worked with weights before, but Kel makes it actually fun (not so much the circuits but I know they are good for me!) and rewarding. You never know how gratifying a high-five is until you get one from someone who tells you you've smashed a workout! Nobody makes you feel stupid or small. You belong here and the community lets you know it too. There's never any weird looks when you try a class for the first time and the changing room chat is always friendly. I'm losing weight, gaining strength and confidence again. I never thought I'd be a gym person but now I can't wait to hit some milestones and treat myself to some new gym gear. A huge thanks to everyone at Fitness Space and to everyone else... JOIN. This is the one gym you won't regret signing up to.

Recommending the Hot Barre class with (the super motivating instructor) Tyler, which takes the basics of barre (ballet warm up) routines incorporated into HIIT-style work-outs, all set to an awesome music soundtrack, and in a hot room to make you sweat! I originally got into barre after being diagnosed with osteoarthritis in my ankles and feet. The movements are great for alleviating joint pain. Barre also incorporates core strength and mindfulness, so it's brilliant for improving both physical and mental performance in other forms of sport and exercise (in my case, cycling, but I've heard of professional [male] footballers doing barre to improve their leg reach, for example). The Hot Barre class here is (currently) scheduled for Wednesday evenings 6.30 p.m. - 7.15 p.m. Booking is via the Mywellness app for Fitness Space Norwich as a pay-as-you-go class or as a member. Bring a water bottle (there's a water cooler to fill up from) and a towel or cloth. No footwear required, just socks.
