The best beef ever crowns a varied menu with something for everyone. Friendly staff. Dog friendly. Not cheap but worth it. Lovely outside eating area when weather permits. Update: the place is under new management. The best beef dishes seem to be off the menu. :(

Extremely disappointing as was trying out to see if we were impressed enough to bring our friend friends staying for Badminton. I could tell even when we walked in to the pub it has become scruffy. I took one look at the actual lunch menu and realised straight away that the meal wouldnt be good enough. my friend had soup which she said was ok but they only had white bread and not even sourdough at that. I had chicken liver parfait. I refused to eat it or pay for it! It was the most terrible plate of food I think Ive ever been served at a pub. The so say toast was a white crust greasy with oil and very garlicky ( there was no mention of garlic on the menu). The parfait was certainly not made with chicken liver - if anything it was a bought pork plastic pate. Totally awful. The cocky Irish guy said it was a best seller and I can say that the type of people liking that rubbish have no taste whatsoever. Its sad as the vine tree used to be a very nice pub but I can only see this packing up in the not too distant future! The evening meal prices were ridiculous and I cant see how they would possibly be good value for money. Anyway Im not risking it so we definitely wont be going back. Terrible waste of time and a nasty experience.
