Creative Contractors- Garden Design and Landscaping

PLEASE READ DESPITE ANY POSITIVE FEEDBACK!!! This review is based upon my own opinion and my own experience with this company. I have sought legal advice due to the unsatisfactory work in my opinion, this company carried out for me. He provided me with a quote to: Take down and put up fencing at back and front Gravel front and back garden Remove and replace the patio area. When i look at how i was treated as a paying customer in contrast to all his other paying customers on mybuilder.com judging from their feedback on things such as tidyness, professionalism, turning up, communication and workmanship, it is my personal opinion based on their feedback to mine that i was clearly treated differently to them. I believe i know why. From day 1 he tried to cut corners. He charged me to remove the patio but asked if he could put the new patio on the existing uneaven patio, i said no. The job was supposed to take 5-7 days but it took just under 1 month. He would not turn up when he said & was doing other jobs alongside mine by his own admittance. It seemed to me as if 'I did not matter' in my opinion. He was asked to put an extension lead back in my window once done as i had to leave and to avoid an electrical fire but he ignored my request and left it out in the rain, unapologetically too never mind my house or the neighbours house and their safety. He added on more costs for extra slabs i saw on camera was not used. The costs changed saying he needed more materials. The membrane has been poorly applied as i am weeding every 2-3 weeks with grass growing up (see pictures). He provided cheap weed membrane in my opinion and did not bother to pin it down or apply weed killer prior. He states its pollen that fall on my garden but neighbours with gravel do not seem to be visited by this so called pollen seeds 1 and 2 doors away. It has not even been 12 months and the fence is moving and unstable (see picture) and black mould came on it after just 5 months despite claiming it was treated wood so i had to paint it. It is also fraying and seems like extremely cheap wood. I contacted him and he told me to contact his supplier if i am not happy with the fence he supplied when my contract is with him not his supplier so appalling customer service i received in my opinion. He wont fix the fence which should be under some guarentee but he has given me none. He refuses to put things right and i contacted him within 12 months of the work. He even illegally dumped/flytipped his building waste in my green waste bin without my knowledge/consent and to date wont remove it despite a written agreement as part of the costs for him to remove and dispose of all waste. I feel ripped off in all honesty. In my opinion, i think the conduct of this individual towards me was absolutely disgraceful from the illegal dumping of waste to the poor work in my opinion that was carried out to the way he has treated me overall. So please ensure that you agree everything upfront. Getting things in writing including any warranty on the goods and services supplied before any works starts is a good idea with any company and ensuring one is happy with the work received prior to payment. If a company is not prepared to do this then there is plenty genuine businesses that will. Keeping an eye on what is happening to ensure all paid for materials are used and no corners are cut is best with any company in my opinion. Having proof of all conversations when there is any interaction from the start is important to avoid any false narratives in my opinion. I wish you all well and luck.

Had our garden done by Nicky and his team and wow! The hard work, effort and professionalism we received was second to none. We have an extensive garden and when we moved in it was impenetrable with over grown brambles, dead bushes and trees and completely unlevel. We where told it would take only a week to dig out everything, lay a path and 80 square metres of turf aswell as 6 tonnes of bark for a play area for our children and lay a little patio and 5 tonnes of decorative stone. We initially laughed and thought this was an unrealistic time frame but we had time if it went over so wasnt an issue for us. However, the lads did not disappoint and quite frankly, how hard they worked to get it done in just 6 days was phenomenal. Not to mention the fact that the turf was only delivered to the pavement so it all had to be carried up and a way to where it needed to be laid! All in all we had an amazing experience from these guys and will definitely be using them in future for a drive way we want putting in. We have recommended to many others and all have had the same amazing experience as we have. Keep up the good work lads! I had a similar experience as the other reviewer, so it clearly isn't a one off incident. Where do I start? Most important, shoddy workmanship which has meant that I've had to take up and redo most of the job myself. Poor timekeeping. They rarely turned up on time and sometimes not for days on end. Not listening to what I specifically asked for and doing what they think is best. The final cost of the job was no way near the original quote, which makes me think that they underquote to get the work and then bump up the prices along the way without giving me any idea of the costs. Green bin used as a makeshift skip at the end of the job, so I had to take a car load of waste down to the tip. They weren't the cheapest of the quotes I had either, so I was expecting something a little more professional.
