I have eaten twice here, and the food is mediocre for the cost. The bar is a nice space to spend some time as are the outside grounds.
An on-site EV charger would make the hotel more appealing as its a 10 minute walk to the nearest one.

The lodge is situated in a great location if youre planning on visiting York and exploring the Moors.
We booked a room in the Old Lodging building, but were checked in one of the Feature rooms, which was a nice bonus.
The lodge gives off a Downton Abbey vibe, but on a budget. It would have been so much more impressive if the owners kept it up.
We were finding dead bugs and cobwebs everywhere around the room, breakfast was served a bit cold and we had to wait quite a bit.
Id say its more like a 3 star hotel. The main thing that makes it a 4 star are the bathrobes provided in the room.
Despite many people staying at the same time as we were, it was very quiet and we never heard any noise from the street or inside the lodge.
Entrance to the property is easy to miss, so pay attention when approaching it.
