I chose Mealings for a pre-booking because they purport to be reputable and reliable. Unfortunately, they really let me down and as a new customer, my first experience with them was, I'm sad to say, unacceptable and surprisingly bad. With 7 minutes notice before my pre-booked and pre-paid taxi was due to arrive, they cancelled my pick up because the driver assigned to the job was running late. When I enquired how late, I was told it would be half an hour after my requested pick up. I was not offered another car as they didn't have one among their fleet to deal with a pre-booking. I received a cursory and insincere apology from the male who phoned me along with a 'not my problem' attitude, and when I expressed my dissatisfaction he put the phone down. Looking at Facebook reviews it seems this is a common problem - they are struggling to meet their own standards of dependability, and their customer service needs a big review. You have been warned - don't rely on Mealings for hospital appointments, airport transfers or anywhere that requires you to be somewhere on time. There is every chance they will let you down.
