Received quote from Simon, which compared to other tree surgeons locally, was extremely good value. His team arrived within stated time and promptly carried out the job on aHoney Locust which they last pruned over 12 years ago. Back then everything was left clean and tidy and a great shape to the tree. Same again this time, performed with care and understanding not only of my requirements but also those of the tree and have again left a great shape and the promise of good balance and shape development over the years to come. Do not be put off by the odd adverts review as these guys really do great work and every trade will have the odd dissenter .

Despite the company's website claim of providing a "professional gardener who will be friendly, experienced and take pride in working in your garden", the experience my elderly mother had recently when she hired Hayward's for a garden tidy-up was nothing of the kind. A job that warranted longer than the two hours actually spent resulted in a very poor finish which I was shocked to see. After complaining, there was no apology to my mother or attempt to understand the dissatisfaction. Begrudgingly, the gardener came back to do what should have been done, having cancelled one appointment (something he seemed good at doing having let my mother down a couple of times in the first instance). Having been charged a substantial amount for this work (with no written initial estimate received), I and my family feel strongly that our mother was ripped off. With such poor quality work, unreliability and non-existent customer service, we will not be using this company again and would not recommend it. Avoid! Service: Yard work
