        We feel really lucky to have the boat lift on our doorstep! The staff are always cheerful and welcoming, especially with my wild children who love to explore the play area and visitors centre, particularly the colouring in and dressing up section! we regularly enjoy a hot chocolate, THE best bacon roll and homemade cake

        If Victorian engineering is your interest then the Anderton boat lift is a must. Lovely to just sit and watch the boats and have a coffee from the cafe. Nice walks along the canal and the river Weaver.

        A really interesting and enjoyable day out for all the family. I learned so much about the history of the boat lift from the very knowledgeable guide, whose enthusiasm is infectious. All staff were very helpful and polite. All areas including the cafe were dog friendly which was an unexpected bonus. Something for everyone.
