The boating lake in Shibden Park, but when I visited on a weekday afternoon, there was no boat hire facility operating. Lots of waterfowl on the lake. Kids playground adjacent and the Mere is just past the Coffee Culture caf.

Lovely place for a walk! I noticed nobody was wearing life jackets though when on the little boats - the kids could go on their own which worried me a bit. Maybe I just couldnt see the life jackets but if kids can go in on their own they should have something to keep them afloat incase the fall in.

lots going on on the lake -ducks coots geese swans moorhens herons sticklebacks tadpoles and seabirds -better than watching gentleman jack
