        Nearby activities: Near the lovely old town of Halifax with Eureka ,Dean Clough and Piece hall to name but a few. Walkability: Beautiful countryside all around If a bit hilly. Also Shibden Park and lake a short walk away. Food & drinks: Usually brilliant but the fish and chips could have been a bit better. Had them before and they were lovely. Maybe just an off day. Everything else spot on.

        We had an impromptu early dinner at the Inn. We felt lucky we could get in as it was fully booked for the evening. The food was absolutely gorgeous and plenty. Beautiful fresh warm sourdough with cultured butter, roasted hake, mac and cheese and the parsnip parfait. The setting and service was lovely, too. Perhaps the only thing that would have improved the experience if the waiting staff had given a bit of an introduction to the dishes. But in any case, highly recommend.
