Hello everyone, if your thinking of using this company to buy your tarpaulin, please reconsider strongly before you waste your money. I spent nearly 80 in July 2020 on clear tarpaulin to protect our undercover area from the elements. The Tarpaulin is not of satisfactory quality as in the last month I have noticed 2 pieces which the hem as come away from the clear panel, not ripped I might add, just a perfect straight line as if it's pulled away from the stitching. I emailed the company because after just 6 months this shouldn't have happened and unfortunately although the staff member did reply , apparently an email from the director which I recieved wanted to blame the elements for the fault and the director of the company has claimed it's tear and wear. I have disputed that unless it's a low quality product, the item should not have become damaged like it has especially two of them in exactly the same place. I have also consulted my friend who offered to see if she could repair them , but upon inspection it isn't possible to repair and she says looks like a manufacturer error as it looks like it hasn't been held by the hem as it's not a rip, it's actually come away from the edging.. The Director has since ignored my emails after they refused to accept responsibility and make no acknowledgement to make things right so I'm now waiting for the 14 days notice to complete and then I will be taking further action against this company starting with the consumer ombudsman. The Consumer Rights Act 2015 makes it an implied term of the contract I have with Tarpaflex that goods be as described, fit for purpose and of satisfactory quality. Items have to also last a reasonable amount of time, with the clauses Tarpaflex have under their terms and conditions, I think they believe they have 'get out' clauses - that it doesn't matter how long an item lasts , that they can't be responsible for how long there products last.... that's what excuse they gave me anyways. Unfortunately for them, buyers do have some protection which not everyone is probably aware of, and I have a feeling they thought they could just fob me off with some excuse....again unfortunately for them, I'm going all the way until I get replacement or refunds... But if you haven't made a purchase, stay well clear and find a different company.
