Calcot Peak Barn is a fantastic place to stay with stunning surroundings and a completely noise-free environment. The house is extremely well equipped with ample sleeping space for 3-4 people, nicely sized and equipped kitchen, a great living room area with a log burner, TV & ultra-fast internet and a good sized downstairs bathroom. There are plenty of walking routes in the area, we were provided with maps and guides to assist us. It is also very close to the charming Cotswold villages/towns of Northleach, Bibury and Cirencester. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely return.

We stayed in Calcot Peak Barn - the smaller cottage of those offered - for four nights and were delighted with the place. The cottage was in near-total seclusion, having driven down a private lane off the road for several minutes before arriving (guided by the friendly owner). From the cottage itself we could see neither any road, nor indeed any other buildings. For some this might be a little too isolated, but if you are looking for actual seclusion, you could ask for no more. The cottage is surrounded by fields, has pleasant woods nearby and we saw pheasants and hares in the fields every day, comfortable in the lack of humanity. Despite this isolation, the cottage is only 5-10 minutes drive from Northleach, home to an excellent butchers as well as a bakery and shop that between them provide practically everything one could ask. The cottage itself is spacious for two (there being two mezzanine rooms facing each other over the main part of the barn) and would certainly appoint 4 well - although only one room is set as a double by default (the other has two single beds). The kitchen is large and well designed - being a self-catering place we enjoyed cooking various meals with the necessary utensils all present and correct. All in all, a wonderful little cottage that is perfect for a getaway, a honeymoon or an idyllic family retreat.
