Afternoon Tea at Wynyard Hall

Absolutely atrocious service. Booked a high tea for 4 at the cost of 140 and was told it was 72 hours cancellation notice by the girl that took my payment. My mother was taken into hospital for heart surgery after collapsing during a routine hospital appointment unexpectedly. I phoned them outwith the 72 hours I was informed of and asked to cancel only to be informed that I would not be refunded. There was no offer of a resolution other than your not getting a refund. The girl that informed me of the cancellation notice denied telling me this. I asked if it could be put on a gift card to use at a later date after my mother had recovered well enough to attend only to be told no. I couldnt carry it forward because they were changing their menu for Christmas. Worst customer service Ive encountered. Would definitely not recommend. Would have given a zero if there was an option. Management refused to discuss this matter with me as it seems they are never on site any day you phone. My mother is out of hospital now and is making a good recovery not that anyone expressed any concern. This was not the 80th birthday treat I was planning on for my mother.

Delicious! Excellent service (although a top up of tea would have been nice). Beautiful surroundings. We enjoyed the use of the spa too.
